Edwin Figueroa (Father of Edwin Torres)

I am starting this for my co-worker who could use some quick help.

Edwin Torres, a fellow Realtor at Lamacchia Realty, has had a tough few weeks. 1st, as an honorably discharged Marine, Edwin decided he wanted to continue serving his country and joined the National Guard. He recently found out he was being deployed to Baghdad for a year, leaving his 4 young children (Including 2 under 3 years of age) and his wife behind. Needless to say this has been a major stress for them but its a sacrifice they gladly make so he can serve us and our country.

As he is in Texas training getting ready to leave very soon for Baghdad, he received the call on Sunday that his father tragically and unexpectedly passed away. Edwin flew home right away and is back here to help his mom plan services etc.

The reason I started the GoFundMe is because his wife Andrea told me they have getting to Puerto Rico....airfare/hotel is taken care of. It is the return flight cost that is the issues. It is looking to be as much as $500 per person and Edwin & Andrea as well as their 4 kids are going.

This has been a tough time for Edwin & his family. Between his pending yearlong deployment, being away from his family, the financial burden they have and his Father’s passing, it is A LOT to handle and process.

They leave Saturday for the funeral in PR. Time is of the essence as they need to book the return flights before seats book up and/or prices go up.

Anything you can contribute will help. It doesn't matter if you can contribute $5, $50, $500...whatever you can afford and feel comfortable with donating.
