The Claudine Ruiz Scholarship Fund
Tax deductible
Hello. The San Diego Deputy District Attorneys Foundation is a recognized 501(c)(3) (EIN 82-0781650). Our Foundation is proud to launch a campaign for our Scholarship Fund that honors the life of Deputy District Attorney Claudine Pilar Ruiz.
High school, college and graduate students from under-sourced communities who are seeking careers in criminal justice are encouraged to apply for a Claudine Ruiz academic scholarship through the SDDDAFoundation.
Claudine was a beloved prosecutor within the San Diego District Attorney’s Office from 2000 to 2014. She was a dedicated and outstanding trial lawyer, wife, and mother. She earned an undergraduate degree in international relations from American University in Washington, D.C., and her law degree from the University of San Diego. In 2010, she received a master of law degree from Chapman University. She never forgot the benefit she received from scholarships awarded to her along the way.
As a prosecutor, Claudine was best known for her tireless work in the area of domestic violence and for successfully handling several high-profile cases with integrity and grace. Claudine was honored by her peers with an outstanding achievement award and was also recognized by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors for her outstanding contribution to public safety. A rising star taken all too soon, she is survived by her husband, two sons, her extended family, and her DA family. She will be long remembered.
Your assistance will help us keep Claudine's legacy alive by assisting young adults to achieve academic success and impactful careers in criminal justice. We ask for your support by making a tax-deductible donation through this secure Go Fund Me / PayPal page or by sending a check payable to the SDDDAFoundation at PO Box 124945, San Diego, CA 92112-4945.
Thank you so much for your generosity.
