Hi, my name is Corinne and I am running this GoFundMe for my friend Holly and her son Christian who need our help getting Holly back to her healthy self.

Holly Kennedy is a single mom who is working on recovering from a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Concussive Syndrome (PCS) after being hit by a student driver in February 2022. She has reached the end of her reserves and now urgently needs the love and financial support of her community to aid her during her recovery. The fund will go towards Holly’s treatment and rehabilitation suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Concussive Syndrome (PCS) and to help with modest monthly living requirements as well.

We, her friends, are stepping in to help her navigate the support process as she is unable to do so on her own.

In Holly’s words:

This debilitating accident and the long road of recovery is the most difficult thing I have ever endured and continue to endure. Without being able to work to bring in income, I'm struggling to find the means. I need support and need to just be able to get well and support myself again. I miss my life and helping others. I’m struggling with a broken brain so it’s almost impossible to gain traction with finding viable resources, reaching them, and getting it accomplished with memory and processing issues, fatigue, and more. My son and I would so appreciate, beyond measure, any support from our friends and community to help during this time of recovery.

There have been so many dark days since the accident—and I, so very badly, want to get back to even a small fraction of who I was. I can't say enough about how much this support would be appreciated by me and my son. It is such a vulnerable thing to ask for help in this way and to admit that I just can't do this without a community of support. I just need that time to recover and—with intensive treatment and dedication, get to where I can function. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your time and consideration, and support.

More about Holly:

In February 2022, Holly was in a devastating car accident and has been struggling ever since. Her brain injury has left her with physical and cognitive impairments, including neck and back pain, migraines, processing issues, light and sound sensitivities, memory issues, fatigue, and more. She is no longer able to work and is struggling to make ends meet while she undergoes intensive treatment and rehabilitation.

Holly has always been a kind and generous person, dedicating her life to working with children and volunteering in her community. Holly has always been the soul of kindness and generosity, she has single-handedly raised money for struggling families in her community, and she celebrated her fiftieth birthday by doing a large number of kindness initiatives including donating over 25 new toys to the Seattle Childrens Hospital, she has volunteered with the Make-A-Wish foundation and many other charities, and she has volunteered countless hours at her son's school.

The money raised by this GoFundMe will go towards medical expenses, including therapies, tests, exams, and procedures, as well as daily living necessities, bills, and transportation. Even the smallest contribution can make a big difference in her life.
