Help Islas family following her passing in Turkey

Dear Jersey friends and kind-hearted individuals,

We come together in a time of profound grief to support Laura Carolan, Ryan Sutcliffe, Karis and their family as they navigate the devastating loss of their beloved 2-year-old child, Isla whilst on a family holiday in Turkey. Tragedies like this are unimaginable, and no family should ever have to endure such pain, let alone in a foreign country away from all family & friends, knowing she could have been saved if it weren’t for the poor medical care provided & misdiagnosis.

The experience this family faced whilst Isla was ill is absolutely appalling, they were told by a hotel doctor that she had tonsillitis, which Laura advised Isla had been stating she had tummy pain no throat pain & did not believe this was the cause. Due to Laura & Ryan being unhappy with this, they then proceeded to take Isla to hospital the following day, to only be seen by the same doctor from the hotel, who proceeded to insist she has tonsillitis, gave Nurofen & said she was fit to be discharged & fly that evening. Isla deteriorated drastically resulting in an ambulance having to take her to hospital from the airport, to be told that it was appendicitis & sepsis, the appendix then ruptured resulting in the unimaginable. They will all be returning back to Jersey shortly.

Isla brought so much joy and laughter into the lives of those who knew her. Her radiant smile and infectious spirit will forever be etched in our hearts. While we cannot ease the emotional burden, we can help alleviate some of the financial stress that comes with such an unexpected loss.

The purpose of this GoFundMe campaign is to raise funds to assist Laura, Ryan and their family with the travel, funeral & ongoing expenses they are facing during this incredibly difficult time. The last thing we want is for them to worry about financial matters while grieving.
