Hey everyone,

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and an urgent plea for support. Our dear Lauren - a beautiful daughter, sister, mum, wife, aunty, friend, and overall amazing person - has recently been diagnosed with a tumour in her stomach, which has not yet been formally diagnosed.

This tumour came as a surprise to us all, and Lauren has been undergoing numerous tests to find out the best way to battle this. What we do know is that Lauren will have to have intensive radiation, which, unless she pays $5,000 out of pocket, she can't start yet. She will be put on a public wait list, which could be more complex for her situation. Once radiation is done, she will have surgery to remove not only the tumour but multiple other organs, which consist of her spleen, kidney, and half of her stomach.

This comes at a time when Lauren and her family are still grieving her beautiful boy Corey, who passed away not even a year ago. Lauren and her family are forever grateful for the support in which they received during that most difficult time of their lives, and I am hoping we can support her of similar during this battle.

With Lauren's treatment, it will mean time off work for appointments, radiation, surgery, and recovery, which, at this point, we don't know what that will consist of. Lauren has very limited leave to be able to take from work, and her husband Kayne, who runs his own business who will be by her side, supporting her will lose his income also. They also have children they still need to look after as well.

Lauren has a heart of gold and will do anything for anyone and put them before herself, so for a moment, I would like her to be put first. As a community, let's rally behind Lauren in her fight.

My goal is to not only cover the overwhelming medical expenses but also to ensure that Lauren and her family can focus on recovery and not have to worry about work and anything financially.
