Mom's Funeral
Don protégé
On March 23, 2019, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away after battling cancer since October 2017. In the 18 months of her battle, she continued to show us the strength and courage that she has displayed throughout her life. She was never one to back down from a challenge, and this was no exception.
After initially being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, my mother fought that, and as it turns out, it was also cervical and uterine cancers. Those 3 cancers didn't stand a chance in a fight with Karen Gray. However, the cancer spread into her stomach lining. After two failed chemo attempts, her condition worsened. The biggest struggle was her breathing due to fluid being in her lungs. As a result, she would have to have two catheters put in, one on each side, to help drain her lungs. Despite all of this, her fiery demeanor remained. Unfortunately, her body couldn't keep up the fight that her mind wanted to.
As anyone who has ever had to plan a funeral knows, these services are not inexpensive. My mother did not have any money saved. So, we are asking for your help to provide her with the funeral that she deserves. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Any additional amount over what is needed to cover the services will be donated to WP Hospital for Cancer Care and Rosary Hill Home. Please do not feel obligated. If you can't, then we will gladly accept your prayers to help us through this difficult time.
