“URGENT HELP NEEDED”

Every week as a Pound Puller is hard and is getting harder! The past week has been harder than most.

Two dogs who have been in the pound since early January were going to be PTS on Monday 29th January and we couldn’t find a rescue space for either of them, the Pound is full, so they were being killed for space. They were both described as sweet young dogs and with all of the XL’s that we cannot help we simply couldn’t see these two PTS.

Emergency boarding spaces are like hens’ teeth and once there it is harder to find dog rescue spaces as there are always more urgent dogs who need the spaces.

After reaching out through the rescue world we have found a wonderful option! A private kennel where there are only 6 kennels, and they specialise in helping Poundies progress into their forever homes. They earn nothing from this and only want their costs covered. They will still be Jacobs Pound Dogs until they are adopted.

The two Poundies are Star and Kelcy. We know very little about either dog other than they are both young between two and three years old and Star has had multiple litters! Kelcy’s owner had said they were coming to claim her and then never turned up! Which is probably for the best!

Both will be vet-checked once they have settled, fully vaccinated, and spayed and from the photos it looks like Star may have cherry eye which will possibly need an operation.

Tonight, they are not facing the needle on Monday, they are safely tucked up in warm kennels with double duvets having run around in the fenced area with each other (after careful introductions) and eaten sausages as treats. The person who is looking after them has said they are super friendly dogs, with each other and the people they have met, and they just want affection.

Now the big ask and it is big! We are facing daily kennel bills, plus veterinary costs, we are appealing for your help with fundraising for these two girls who would not still be here unless we at Jacobs Pound Dogs had decided to save their lives.
