Family Crisis Fund

Hi, My name is Steve DLT and here is a bit about me. I am a husband to beautiful wife, a father to two handsome boys and one daughter who's growing up way to fast. I am starting this family fundraiser due to some life circumstances which have greatly impacted mine and my families lives for the worse.

I was a Police Officer with a small agency for about 6 months; prior to the Police department, I was a member of the armed forces, (US Army), for many years. Having recently moved my whole family up to North Idaho in 2022 and finally starting my dream career, life was normalizing and routines were setting in.

Prior to the birth of my 2nd son, I received a letter in the mail stating I was having a protection order placed against me in another state for some egregious accusations which were stemming from a person who was part of my former life.

This led to my department terminating me...having given up everything in CA to move to Idaho, we have no family near us to help and at the end of the day I was completely lost on what to do. I was able to defeat the protection order, yet my department did not want me back.

Therefore, I have applied for Government assistance and have been successful with submitting applications and conducting interviews, but have not been successful with receiving aid or funds, to include unemployment.

We are currently $20,000 in debt. This includes past due bills totaling up to $1,000, 90 days worth of rent including receiving an eviction notice $6,600 (we are supposed to move out in 2 weeks), this also includes attorney fees to fight the protection order, $12,000. I have sold personal items to help sustain living and have cancelled numerous non-essential everyday commodities.

The icing on the cake, due to my having no help from former coworkers, "brothers", my family decided to drive back to our home state to have our 2nd son born on June 10th. While driving back home to North Idaho, we were rear-ended with all of us in the vehicle, including the newborn, and my truck to this day still sits in Southern Oregon awaiting insurance to decide whether it's going to pay out or fix my vehicle. And lastly, I have been experiencing chest pain which lead to my going to the Emergency Room just this passed week with not so good news, a few nodules were found. So we have that to deal with…

I have been applying for employment all over yet no one is offering sustainable wages which would help get us and keep us out of the hole we are in. I am and have always been a contributor to other persons go fund me accounts whether it be a $1 or $100. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be asking for handouts and help. So please know, every donation received will go to getting a household with two veterans back on our feet and keeping my children from having to live out on the street.
