Let's Help Jenna!

Hi, we are Scott and Geraldine Ladd, the owners of the Broadway Grille . Through the years we've come to know our customers fondly. One in particular, a 79-year-old Navy Vet named Jenna, stops in regularly. We've been drawn to her because of her shy, kind attitude, how she seems grateful for so little, and never complains.

Until, a few weeks ago, she asked if we knew who she should call to repair some pipes in her house that had frozen during the night. In addition, she had no heat - and this was one of the coldest weeks we'd had all year.

Thinking this might be something he could do, Scott ran over to her home to assess the situation, and was dismayed by what he saw. Although from the outside the little house doesn't look too bad, the interior is in a dire state of disrepair. The one picture posted here just gives a hint on how deplorable is Jenna's situation. The ceiling is falling in, there is no heat, the plumbing desperately needs to be replaced - and that's just the beginning. Scott quickly realized this was beyond his purview, and put out a call for help in re-doing Jenna's home, and make it not just habitable, but comfortable and inviting.

Her home has since been condemned by the city. We are working with Habitat for Humanity and many 

additional organizations and volunteers to assist in building her a new home. Grants, funds from Go Fund Me and donated supplies/contractors is ongoing. 

We are overwhelmed by the number of volunteers - some who know Jenna, some do not - but everything needed is costly. We need funds for demolition, building, plumbers, electricians as well as basic needs for her and her cats. Rent expenses to house her during this transition. 

 This is a wonderful opportunity to thank a Vet for her service to this country. Please, if you can, donate. From the bottoms of our hearts, we - and most of all, Jenna - would be forever grateful to be able to stay in her hometown of 79 years.
