Keep My Apartment

I turned 82 on January 5th. The next day, January 6th, with a truly heavy heart I was forced to lay my 13 year old support system to rest. He had lymphoma of his coat and bladder cancer. In the succeeding months he went deaf and blind. The most loving thing I could do for him was let him rest. I suddenly experienced deep solitude, silence, and aloneness. Following the period of pandemic isolation I found myself bereft of coaching/consulting clients. Many relocated, closed their businesses, or passed on. I am alone and with no income coming in. For the first time in these many years I find myself unable to pay January’s rent, electricity, phone, and some medical expenses. February doesn’t look much brighter. I’ve been applying for work for more than four months to no avail. Ageism does exist. Even Barnes & Noble rejected me as a book clerk. I am starting this Go Fund Me campaign to plead for financial help and support so I can keep my home and not living in a unsafe shelter. Help me to spend the last years of my life standing on my own two feet. Thank you one and all.
