Support for Eden’s Recovery
Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
Eden, a bright and determined high school senior, was suddenly struck by a devastating medical crisis in February. What started as a routine illness turned into encephalopathy—a rare flu complication—leaving her in a coma for weeks and fighting for her life in the Neurosurgical and Children’s ICU.
Over the past month, Eden has endured immense challenges, including significant time on a ventilator, a cranial drain, a tracheostomy, and a feeding tube. While she is showing signs of progress and we hope she will soon be moved to a rehabilitation unit, the road ahead remains uncertain. Her parents, Alli Hammond and David Manktelow, have been by her side every step of the way, but the financial burden continues to grow. The costs of medical care, rehabilitation and future home support, as well as the expense of making their home accessible for Eden are significant.
Eden is known for her kindness, creativity, and determination. Whether she’s helping a friend, volunteering at the Cincinnati zoo, crafting amazing costumes for musical productions, or lighting up a room with her infectious smile, she is someone who lifts up those around her. Now, she needs our support.
We’ve set a goal of $50,000 to help cover the costs of her care and recovery. Every contribution—big or small—makes a difference for Eden and her family. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser can help spread the word.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
With much gratitude,
