My name is Myles Frazier, a 13 yr. old brown belt who has been training at the Bronx Martial Arts Academy for the past 8 years. Inspired early, I joined the Academy's Young Lions Competition Team and started competing locally; finding myself securing the podium often.
In 2018 I was entered into the USA Karate National Championships, where at 8 yrs. old I would face the best in the country. After an unsuccessful experience, I spent the next year training diligently, focused on the simple goal of doing better than I did the previous year. While competing in the 2019 USA Karate National Championships I achieved that goal by obtaining gold in the Male 8-9 yr. Intermediate Division for Team Kumite and a bronze medal in the Male 8-9 yr. old Novice Division for Kata.
That experience pushed me to have more confidence in my training and to do it with passion and a focus on improving. Last year I competed in the 2022 USA Karate National Championship and made it to the finals, placing 2nd overall in the Male 12-13 Advanced Kumite Division. Pushing and challenging myself, this year I’ve moved up to competing in the USA Karate Nationals for a spot on Jr. Team USA; placing Super 3rd. which is the first alternate to represent the USA in the Pan American Championships held in Santiago, Chile on August 21st.
Being the first and so far, only person in my dojo to become a member of Jr. Team USA is a tremendous accomplishment and one that I don't take for granted. This is my greatest achievement thus far and I'm honored to be invited to train at the Olympic Training Center in early August to prepare for the PKF Championships. However, training and competitions as big as this one are quite expensive. This is where sponsorships for an athlete are needed and help is requested.
I am asking for your support to help cover travel expenses, equipment and meal plans to help continue my Olympic Journey as I compete all across the U.S. and the World. All funds will go to this effort as I look forward to putting the Bronx on the map for competition sport karate!!. I appreciate you greatly and thank you for your support.
