In Memory of Gracie

Hi, my name is Emersyn and I owned a Quarter Horse mare named Gracie. Gracie was everything I wanted in a horse plus some, before I got her she was neglected. We had to rehab her and train her. Even after all of that, she was always the first to meet you at the gate, and the last to walk away once you left. Gracie was truly my heart horse. On Thanksgiving day of 2021, my family and I were doing some work in the pasture. Gracie and Bella (her companion) were at the top of the pasture sleeping, and a stray dog came running up along the fence line. At first, we didn’t think anything of it. Dogs would come to our house all the time in the past and then go on their way. Well, this dog ran through the fence and attacked Gracie. She ran around the pasture scared with a dog hanging off of her face, the dog was shaking her, trying to kill her. Finally, after what felt like forever, the dog gave up. Gracie was standing in the middle of the pasture and wouldn’t move at all. We called the vet and she was there within 5 minutes, the vet looked at Gracie’s wounds and told us everything would be okay. Unfortunately, Gracie had severe brain damage from the attack and died from a seizure. I was only 14 at the time and watching all of this happen was truly traumatizing. I now suffer from so many things because of watching the attack. So, I have decided that since Gracie’s death anniversary is coming up, I wanted to set up this GoFundMe in honor of her. All proceeds will go to my favorite rescue, Roaming Equine Redemption. They rescue horses like Gracie, and I want to support them as much as I can. If you can, please donate.
