I'm participating in The Ultimate Fitness Project - to raise money for Good Grief, a charity that provides unlimited and free support to children, teens and families after the death of a parent or sibling through peer support programs, education and advocacy. Good Grief started supporting families in 2007 in Summit NJ and has moved to Morristown. There is another location in Princeton. They have served more than 400 families and 1,000 children in over 150 New Jersey towns. The program costs about $1500 per child and $5000 per family.
I'm competing in a fitness contest with men and women more than half my age. I have no illusions about being in the top 10 as it relates to the obstacle course. It's timed and all about stamina and breathing....tought for me. But for every $50 raised, I get a point that goes toward my overall standing.
I've never asked before for any type of fund raising. Whatever you can give, is appreciated. I know at the age of 55 what it felt like to lose a parent, I can't imagine what a child goes through. This is a great organization that gives that child the support it needs.
Thanks for listening.
