Let's Build a Bridge for 5 communities in Africa

Hello Fellow GoFunders!

We are a team of Civil Engineers at Florida Atlantic University, and we need your help to improve the lives of communities in Eswatini, Africa by constructing a pedestrian footbridge to help them cross an unsafe, large body of water.

The name of the bridge will be "KaBodali" and it will directly serve an average of 2500 individuals, which includes 1900 children. The construction of the KaBodali Bridge will provide access to schools, churches, shops and funerals.

In May 2024, we will be graduating as Civil Engineers from Florida Atlantic University and our goal is to develop the design and construction of a suspended footbridge that will directly serve five communities in Africa: Kusulvkeni, Manyaweni, Lugubeni, Kudlomo and Hhhehhe.

These communities are located in the municipality of Nkhaba. During rainy season, the river is impossible to cross for approximately 180 days. There is no current crossing method and the residents of these communities risk their lives to cross the river, causing injuries and fatalities.

The money collected will go to the expenses related to Survey, Transportation to and from the site, Materials and Delivery, Tools, Laborers. It will also help cover the vaccination and part of the air travel cost for the 5 members of the team.
