Eight Oh Brew and Ludlow flood damage
Donation protected
Hi All,
First off, we want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has reached out to offer a hand, equipment and other help, we have been overwhelmed by the support of our amazing community, friends and family. We have a long and uncertain road ahead but we are determined to find a way to open our doors again.
Opening night was just over a year ago, we were all new to the area and new to the industry, but we also knew we had a special place in a great town. Before it was Eight Oh Brew the location had always been a local watering hole and we wanted nothing more than to continue that tradition. For the last year, we have gotten to know the people of this town, developed so many amazing regulars and have seen what an amazing community Ludlow is. We truly love this place and the people here.
On Monday, July 10th we woke up to water sensor alerts going off at the tap house, but roads had already blown out and we were stuck. Unable to get into town and watched the place fill with water via security cameras. When the water reached 4 ft we lost the cameras and could only pray that the water stopped rising.
The next morning we drove down to the bar with our fingers crossed, but when we were able to see the damages for ourselves we were devasted. Water had reached Hurricane Irene levels and washed everything away, a total loss. In just a couple hours the storm had taken everything we worked so hard for. Couches were tossed on top of the bar, pool tables were moved and all of our equipment was lifted and moved like cardboard boxes.
We are humbly asking for your help, we are not the type of people that ask for money or assistance often but without it, we may not open again. All proceeds will go directly to rebuilding the bar, replacing equipment and any amount that is left over will go directly to others in Ludlow that are in need.
Thank you so much,
Dave, Jake, Alex and Lisa (Eight Oh Brew Team)
