Hello friends and family....
** IN MEMORY OF TINY TORI **
After our family's long journey of 88 days, Jaxon is finally home. During our stay at the Royal Alex and Grey Nuns NICU, I was able to meet wonderful people including many nurses and staff members who supported Duane and I through every good and bad day. I was offered shoulders to cry on, ears for listening and open arms for many hugs. Without these people, as well as the support of our family and friends, I am not sure I could have made it through this difficult time. On April 27th our sweet little Tori passed away; this was and still is a very difficult event to endure. I knew in my heart that I would have to do something in Tori's memory to give back to Mother's who would face a similar journey. While in the NICU I spent everyday beside Tori and Jaxon's bedside, sometime 15 - 18 hours a day; I know I will not be the first or last Mother to spend these long hours, days and months beside her children. I will be making gift boxes for the new Mother's in NICU, who will spend extended time in the unit. The gift box will include a journal, pen, box of soft kleenex, lip chap, unscented hand lotion, pair of slippers, mints/gum and an inspirational book of some kind. The NICU became my second home and with these items Mother's can hopefully feel more comfortable and know that someone is thinking of them. The boxes will be distributed by the NICU social worker. With everyone's help, I am hoping to make 100 boxes this year. If you would like to help, please feel free to pick up an extra box of kleenex or a package of pens (any of the items in the photos provided) while you are out shopping; even a small donation/item will help. Please message me on Facebook if you have an item(s) for donation and I will make arrangements to pick them up or they can be dropped off at our house. Any monetary donations will be used to purchase the boxes and items for inside.
