Eileen Stroud Funeral & Hospital Expenses
We are raising money for this amazing mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Eileen Stroud. On March 27th, 2020 she had a Hemorrhagic Stroke in Hereford Arizona and was airlifted to St. Josephs hospital in Tucson Arizona. She was unresponsive and was placed on a ventilator at that time. Over the next 2 weeks she remained in ICU for bleeding and swelling of her brain. Unfortunately the swelling kept getting worse. The family was informed that she would never recover from her injuries. On Thursday April 9, 2020 the decision was made by her children to uphold her wishes and remove life support. This decision was hard for the family in multiple ways including not being able to be with her at the hospital for the last 2 weeks due to the hospital being on lockdown because of COVID-19. She continued to breath on her own and was transferred to a hospice facility, Peppi’s house on Saturday April 11, 2020. At that point she was kept comfortable and limited family was able to be with her until her death on April 14, 2020. She never regained consciousness. She will be forever missed by everyone who knew her.
Eileen was a person of little means. She had a part time job at a thrift store in Sierra Vista, Arizona. When she wasn’t working there she was home helping with her elderly mother, Eva Stroud.
The family is looking for help to pay the hospital bills for her care and funeral/travel expenses. She is being flown up to Washington where she will be laid to rest in Sultan Cemetery next to her father Vernon Stroud and brother Walter Stroud. On 4/22/2020 there will be a small graveside service with immediate family. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are unfortunately not able to have a large service at this time. We will be having a celebration of life later this year, date is still to be determined.
The family thanks you for any donation that you give. Please take some time to share a story or memory you have of Eileen.
