can you make hair for me?

In September 2018, Eileen was diagnosed with cancer, specifically lymphoma. Undaunted by her medical issues, recovering from chemo and not strong enough to work, she started the Can You Make Hair for Me project inviting artists and creatives to make hair for her which she then wears, styles and photographs. When a person has cancer people want to help, but sometimes the expression of that help doesn't mesh with the needs of the patient. After receiving one too many pot roasts, Eileen decided to give everyone that wanted to help a project: make hair she can wear, photograph and share with others. When you lose your hair, you lose your identity. Wearing and style the hair helps for regain that lost self and creates a bridge of conversation and activity between the person with cancer and their friends, family and well wishers. The goal of @canyoumakehairforme is to bring joy and levity to those going through chemotherapy. To date, Eileen has self funded the project paying for prints, frames, shipping, clothes, camera equipment and all while undergoing 11 chemotherapy treatments, a stem cell transplant, abdominal resection surgery, and a CAR t-cell treatment. Consider a small gift that will help Eileen to show the make, show and promote the can you make hair for me? project. Donations will be used to continue the Can You Make Hair for Me project by paying for printing, framing, exhibition/shipping costs, and for website and video development. Help spread the word about the project and encourage others to participate. Find me on Instagram, Facebook and a my nearly-finished-but-not-quite website canyoumakehairforme.com
