Help us build an office for the Ranger work

Donation protected
This is the first out of three projects to renovate the house. The second project is to build a Coffe place

At the border with Myanmar lies the Thoo Mweh Khee Learning Center, a school for Myanmar refugees. Most of the people here belong to the Karen ethnic group, who have been suffering from the world’s longest civil war since 1949.

Since June of this year, we’ve been establishing Ranger work here. Royal Rangers are Christian scouts active in over 90 countries worldwide. Beyond fun activities, we aim to provide the students here with perspectives, encourage them to take initiative and responsibility, and instill values that will help them in their future lives. Here at the school in Thailand, we also offer translation, guitar, and language courses that benefit the leaders and provide them with opportunities for their future.

By now, around 30 leaders have joined the project, all of whom are motivated to advance the Rangers and care deeply for the children here. We are many Rangers, and since the project is new, there is a lot to organize. Currently, we meet in private homes for this purpose. Unfortunately, we are often disturbed – other people walk in, pass by, or need the space. For office work, we constantly have to set everything up and take it down again. We don’t have a place to store our materials where everyone has access. Additionally, we’ve already had to cancel some training sessions because we are using the school’s public spaces. While we’ve managed to hold some training sessions, we’ve decided that, in the long term, we want dedicated office space for Ranger work.

We need a space that can become a home for the Rangers, where we can work without disturbing others. To achieve this, we’ve decided to rent a house. We wouldn’t just use the space for outpost planning but also offer various training sessions to help students improve their skills in translation, English, and IT. Above all, we want to use it as a place to sit together and build community.

Specifically, we want to furnish the space with office chairs, seating areas, tables, and equipment to make it more comfortable.

Unfortunately, as a team, we don’t have the financial resources needed to set up the office. That’s where you come in! If this project is close to your heart, please help us by donating to transform this empty building into a home for the Rangers. Your support will enable us to nurture the students and young leaders, build relationships, and further develop their skills so that they’ll have more and more doors open to them in the future.

All the leaders are already looking forward to the space and would be thrilled once it’s finally ready. We’d not only appreciate your financial support to make this possible but also if you followed us on social media. There, we’ll share updates about the project and the progress we’ve made – and will continue to make. We’d love to see you there so you can follow along with how things develop!
