Help the McGaha Family

Hello everyone! My name is Amber. I am currently seeking help for my family as our world has recently been turned completely upside down. Monday April 17th, my 11 year old daughter- Sutton, was taken to Children’s hospital. We spent 2 days there for them to tell us that her liver was failing and that they were not equipped to properly take care of her and that she would be transferred to Vanderbilt immediately. At this point jaundice had set in and my baby’s pigment was bright yellow.Wednesday the 19th, my daughter and I were taken to Vanderbilt Hospital by ambulance. Upon arrival they explained to me that they wanted to get her stabilized and then do a liver biopsy in order to see what was causing my baby’s liver to give out on her. The biopsy was pushed back twice due to them being worried that her body wouldn’t be able to handle the procedure. On Friday they finally decide to do the biopsy but during the procedure her oxygen levels dropped and they found out that she had a bleed somewhere in her body. Coming out of the procedure, Sutton was kept fully sedated with a machine breathing for her. They have started bringing her out of sedation (but she is this relying mostly on a machine to breath for her and had to have a feeding tube put in) and she is currently able to write to us and nod when we talk to her, but there is still a long road ahead of us. They are already saying she will definitely need a liver transplant eventually and have brought in numerous specialists to help find out why her body is attacking itself. This of course was not expected. I have two other children at home and my husband and I have had to make accommodations to make sure that they are also taken care of during this time. My husband has had to drive the 3 hours out here and back numerous times so that he can be here for our baby but also so that our other 2 children will have at least one of us there and so that he can continue to work in order to keep us from completely falling behind in our finances. Unfortunately we could not plan for this because we would’ve never thought something this devastating could happen to our little family. I am asking for help which is not something me or my husband would typically do. We do not want to put anyone out or cause hardships on anyone at all, but if you are able and willing we could most certainly use the help. This money will go to our gas so that her daddy can come see her and make it back, to helping with food and toiletries for me and Sutton (as I WILL NOT be leaving her side at all), and to help run or household until we are able to get back to our “normal”. This is going to be a long journey for us, but I know we will make it through all of this. Please keep my family in your prayer and share this account so that we may find help
