The Last Spark is a Noir-Horror Anthology.

Logline:
Our Noir-Horror film depicts a world devastated by a virus that physically and mentally mutates people into their greatest fears. Decades after the outbreak and trapped in a single room, Glen, an aged researcher plays mind games with his captor Peter, an interrogator for a sinister cult. Glen is forced to recount stories from his research. A police call operator dealing with day 1 of the outbreak, an insane trainer keeping captives for his own entertainment, an attack at a nightclub and a home invasion. Over time the torture and memories break glen manifesting him into his greatest fear.
Why a Fundraiser?
The film has been produced entirely in Cairns Far North Queensland and has been confirmed eligible and accepted for the Australian Academy Awards in October.
We are raising funds to help cover some of the cost of post-production, the overall amount is 100k+
This GOFUNDME is to help us pay for an original soundtrack for The Last Spark. Because it is a Noir-Horror we want the film to have a specific tone. We asked several musicians to do tests for us and the one we chose, Jordan, nailed it.
If we raise more than what’s needed for the Soundtrack that would be amazing because then it would cove some of the other post elements like: Colour Grading, VFX, Sound design / mixing and hiring a finisher to do a once over before it’s submitted to Sundance in mid September and the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards at the beginning of October.
Our Composer:
Jordan Andrew is a Vancouver-based music composer and sound designer with a unique background which offers an uncommon skill set in the world of film composition. Jordan started his career as a professional touring DJ/Turntablist and competed at national levels. He’s had the pleasure of sharing stages with internationally prominent DJs such as Skratch Bastid, Maseo of De La Soul, Krafty Kuts, and The Funk Hunters. Signed with renowned electronic label, Westwood Recordings, his original music has been nominated for various awards. Today, Jordan uses his acute intuition for music and sounds that resonate on an emotional level to effectively support each project. It’s through this dedication that Jordan earned his recent Best Sound Design award at the 2019 Blood N Guts Film Festival. With a long-term goal of composing a wide-ranging selection of film scores while still remaining unpredictable and honest in his approach, Jordan longs for the opportunity to record with an orchestra. A Genre buff who loves a good laugh, he hopes to score more projects of a wide variety in the future.
