Help Reina with her college tuition

Hello,

I am Reina Labbour, a Lebanese filmmaker and actress who recently came to the US to study directing for the theatre.I hold two bachelor’s degrees, one in Cinema and Television, and the other in Theatre and dramatic arts, and I am currently pursuing an MFA in Theatre Directing at Texas State University.

 

Due to the current crisis in Lebanon, my parents are unable to help me pay the tuition fees as the banks have locked the financial accounts of Lebanese citizens. Furthermore, because I am not American, I am unable to get loans from the banks here. The school and I have been relentlessly searching for scholarships and funding to help me complete my freshman spring semester.

 

The amount have so far is $4,000 and I still need $1,200 to be able to register for next semester.

 

Should I be fortunate enough due to your generosity to reach my goal and there are any additional funds raised above our $1,200 goal for the spring semester, they will be applied to my sophomore tuition costs, as I will still need to find ways to fund my final four semesters to complete my MFA in Directing.

 

I have found my theatre home at Texas State, and I can’t imagine having to leave and return to Lebanon if I am unable to pay my remaining balance by November 10th.
