Please Help Us Keep Going

Hi all,

Let me start by saying this is extremely hard to write about.

Some of you know us well, but for those of you who don't I'd like to share some details.

My son, Hunter, was born with a very rare brain malformation called Sub-Cortical Band Heterotopia. He is 9 years old with a developmental age of about 6 months old. He needs full support around the clock. Hunter has significant seizures, he's legally blind, he has a G-Tube and requires home nursing care. He's also the happiest, most innocent and unconditionally loving person you'll ever met. His giggle feels like it can relieve any upset. His smile feels like it can overcome any challenge.

Becoming a single parent again of a child with significant special needs, and another young child, has been the hardest thing of my life. I want to be respectful while still being open and honest with details.

I'm creating this campaign because we are struggling in all aspects of life. I have been burning myself out trying to work as much as possible to provide for my children. It's nearly impossible to work full time while caring for a child with significant medical challenges.

Earlier today, my van was repossessed. Those words literally hurt to type. I can't believe it's come to this point. This afternoon we were supposed to have Hunter's wheelchair clinic, which we've waited months for. He has outgrown his old wheelchair and needs a new one that is more fit to him. Because my van has been repossessed, I won't be able to get him to that appointment.

I've struggled with everything from the car payment to providing food for my family. What I'm in desperate need for is enough financial support to get my van out of repossession. My van is my only way of getting Hunter and my daughter, Autumn, to appointments, school, and also myself to work.

I'm not sure what else I should be saying, except that anything helps. I'm not one to ask for help, so I'm really reaching out. My kids come first, my feelings come later. Right now it's about survival.
