Ekiden Fundraiser for Grace Academy Coventry

We are organising an Ekiden Relay Race Fundraiser on behalf of Grace Academy, Coventry, a secondary school with 850 pupils. Its main catchment area covers some of the poorest parts of the UK, resulting in a high proportion of disadvantaged families. These are defined as households who qualify for free school meals, meaning that the income is likely to be less than £18k per annum. The Academy estimates that its percentage of disadvantaged pupils is more like 55% compared to the national average of 20%.

 

Our target raise of £20,000 will provide enough funding for a new school library and books, revision and learning support for the pupils at Grace Academy, whose lives and education have been heavily affected by Covid-19 and social inequality.
