Hello, my name is Joe!

I am a local climber from the climbing area known as:

"El Salto", area located in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

On June 19 th and 20th , the tropical storm called "Alberto" caused very strong damages(catastrophic damages) in the mountains of the municipality of Santiago, Nuevo Leon, specifically in the town of Cienega de Gonzalez where El Salto campsite is located, the tropical storm left 600 mm of rain or: 0.60 cm of rain height in 1 m2, which is considered an extreme amount of water!

Due to the topography of the place such as rocky mountains, canyons, the water runoff overflowed, generating landslides of rocks, mud, trees, etc.

The El Salto campsite is located on one side of the River, between Rocky hills.

El Salto campsite has been offering a comfortable, safe and economical place for all National and International climbers who visit the climbing area of

"El Salto" .

The fundraising is to hire heavy machinery to extract rocks from the landslides, which occurred in the communal kitchen of the El Salto campsite, we have approximately 80-100 tons of rock from landslides that are about to collapse the communal kitchen of the El Salto campsite and also a communal house for climbers that already has damages and is at risk of completely collapsing if the rains continue and there are more landslides, both buildings will not resist the weight of the rocks, so we must act quickly to remove the landslide rocks before it rains again and the rainy season begins more punctually!

The funds will be used to hire two excavators with hydraulic hammer and qualified personnel to remove the rock slide without affecting both buildings (kitchen and house) and without exposing the safety of the workers!

We will also install a 2 km hydraulic water lineto replace the damaged one, since the existing one was destroyed by the floods!

The electrical network and the perimeter fence were also destroyed by the overflowing of the Santa Catarina River - San Juan River!

El Salto camping will appreciate your help and support; since this campsite has been a non-profit organization since its costs are to cover maintenance expenses!

With a lot of love we have hosted and provided service to climbers of all kinds and conditions! As well as we have also enabled climbing routes and re-equipped climbing routes in El Salto as a service to the climbing community, national and international!
