EL SALVADOR NEEDS HELP!
It's been 77 days since everything was shutdown by the government in response to Covid-19. People are HUNGRY, people are DESPERATE. There are white flags outside of every home that has no food. Then, Storm Amanda hit and the devastation is just heartbreaking. An eight-year-old boy, died after the house he was in collapsed, another person was killed by a falling wall while another drowned in a swollen river. This is happening on a daily basis. The scene is just flooding, rocks, mudslides & white flags everywhere. Nearly 90 percent of El Salvador, population 6.6 million, is considered vulnerable to flooding and landslides due to its geography. After several days of just down pouring rain in the region, now the earth is shaking (El Salvador is consistently shaking wether caused by volcanic activity or because it sits on a fault zone) which has become a real danger for people who live next to already damped mountains. More than 4,000 people have been moved into shelters.
I was hesitant to do this because it's overwhelming when you want to help but don't even know where to start. Now I feel more confident since I've been in touch with Churches & Organizations that are reaching entire communities not just taking food but also flood relief (mattresses, blankets, clothes).
Just so you have an idea, $20 can feed a family of 4 for two weeks. Ideally and depending on how much money we raise it would be amazing to be able to do more than one round of food basket delivery.

I started this campaign to send aid to the poorest communities in rural El Salvador. I don't know these people by name, but have seen enough pictures of the devastation and been in touch with those that are actively visiting these places of extreme poverty. We are hoping to sponsor entire communities. They are strangers but my relationship to them is they are my fellow Salvadorans.
How the funds will be spent (be as specific as possible)

And the rest will be given to local Churches who are receiving approx. 150 people daily crying for help.

I will direct deposit into their accounts in El Salvador (International Wire transfer) and will get proof of donation receipts and pictures of how the money is used.
