In the last month as the country and our local communities have faced the challenging new realities of the COVID-19 pandemic, the service industry has been hit with unprecedented and devastating losses of it's own; millions have lost their businesses and jobs in a matter of weeks. The hard working and dedicated service staff of El Super Pan is among them. Our team is a family and while we have worked relentlessly to address the needs of all our employees we now turn to you, our valued guests and community members to help out the cooks, cashiers, servers, bartenders amongst many others that have greeted you with warm smiles and open hearts for so many years.
Local and federal assistance, while available to some, is proving to be unreliable and slow at best. For many on our team, waiting for benefits to come though is not an option, their need is URGENT. We want to get back to doing what we love and serving our neighborhoods, but do so we need your help now! 100% of all the proceeds collected during this fundraiser will be evenly disbursed amongst our staff for both locations. Some of our team members are nearing crisis around housing needs, food shortages, supplies such as formula and diapers for their children, healthcare and tuition amongst many other basic necessities. Any amount is appreciated and will go a long way in ensuring that our El Super Pan family stay healthy and safe, able to provide for their own families, during these uncertain times.
As the Director of Operations, I was involved in the hardest decision our company has ever had to make, laying off and furloughing staff for both our Battery and Ponce City Market locations. We did this knowing all the personal hardship this would cause our beloved ESP family, but we were left with no options; personally, it has been a heartbreaking and difficult journey to watch all those I work with and love experience the loss of our second home.
We love Atlanta and know that we will all pull through this together. We thank you SO MUCH for the support- we wish you health and positivity in the weeks ahead!Gracias y Pa'lante!
