Elaina’s Hope in the Face of Cancer
This is a short description of Elaina's situation.
Elaina began having health issues that started in October 2019 when she was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma, kidney cancer. She came through surgery to remove the cancer like a champ. In April of 2021, she started suffering with severe headaches and facial swelling. She went to the doctor and found out she had a tumor in her skull. Elaina had surgery to remove the tumor on May 26, 2021. About 4 weeks later she suffered what appeared to be stroke like symptoms. She was rushed to the emergency room and found out her brain was swelling and had fluid building up due to the brain reacting from the effects of the previous surgery. Basically Elaina is suffering from surgical brain trauma and which is causing her seizures. She was then prescribed seizure medication and told she could not drive for 6 months or possibly longer.
Elaina still must have thyroid surgery to remove partial or all of her thyroid due to having thyroid cancer. This surgery will be delayed due to the ongoing stress and suffering from the symptoms and swelling from the brain surgery. Her temporary disability income is not even a third of her normal income. This is causing Elaina a great stress that is supposed to be kept at a minimum. Brain surgery affects you several different ways making it difficult to return to work during this time and needed to keep her stress levels low which is difficult to accomplish when your independence and life is so turned upside down; however Elaina is keeping the faith she has in Jesus and is trying to understand what truly resting in God means, and recognizing that means relying on other people to help.
Please donate to help Elaina and her family of 5 (five).
