Elaine's cancer fund

Please join us in supporting Elaine through her difficult journey in fighting breast cancer. Elaine is a young and vibrant lady from California. Newly wed to her husband, she received a job she couldn't turn down. A chance to work on a film in Sydney for 10 months. Not even married a year, they both decided this was an opportunity she had to take. Elaine took the leap and traveled to Australia alone. Her husband stayed in California with their furry children, waiting for her return.

Shortly after her temporary move to Australia, she was given news that would change her life forever. On May 31st, Elaine was diagnosed with stage 2, triple negative breast cancer at age 30.

Triple negative is a rare form of breast cancer: it is aggressive and fast growing. Due to its nature Elaine had to start chemo right away, or it could spread throughout her body rapidly. The regimen of chemo for triple negative is intense, and is meant to hit the cancer very hard. 

This puts Elaine in a lot of excruciating pain, having to deal with a roller coaster of emotions, and nerve issues; the feeling leaving her weak all over her body. All these make it very difficult for Elaine to function normally. She has missed a lot of work hours for therapies and just mainly needing rest to recover after each round of chemo. As detrimental as it is, the chemo therapy has been very effective, therefor reducing the size of the cancer concentration dramatically.  Going through the treatment mostly alone in another country, she is tenacious and keeps smiling in spite of what’s going on with her and her health.

Her husband was able to come out for a couple months to help support her throughout some of the chemo treatments. He is planning to return when she has her surgeries.  She will be undergoing two surgeries in December, and afterwards radiotherapy for 6 weeks daily.  Overseas medical expenses with no medicare and living expenses are becoming difficult for her to meet.
