Elaine’s Open Heart Sugery

Hi, I’m Kristina, Elaine’s mom. Here’s a little background as to why this gofundme is needed at this point.

around 16 weeks pregnant, I found out that Elaine has an av septal defect (her heart) which was also an indicator for trisomy21 (Down syndrome). I had blood work done that came back 52.8% positive that she had the trisomy21. Of course I continued on with my pregnancy. i ended up getting preeclampsia and it getting extremely severe right before i had her. At 35 weeks & 3 days, 8/31 I went in for my weekly non stress test & ultrasound, and as I was in my non stress test, her heart rate decelerated into the 60s for almost a minute. They sent me to labor & delivery where then they kept me over night to keep an eye on her heart rate and start my induction. On 9/1, they really started the induction & as I got further along with labor, and the more contractions came her heart rate continued to go down with each one, at one point stopping. She was born 9/1 @ 3:11pm. Elaine has to have open heart surgery on January 11, 2023. We have to be there the day before. This hospital is 2.5 hours from home. The surgery is going to take 5-6 hours. I’m obviously unable to work right now. I’m in need of financial assistance. This will help with medical bills, fuel, food & drinks while she’s there, place to stay and so on.
