Elder Winston Wuttunee

Dear all,

As you may already know Elder Winston Wuttunee was taken ill during his visit to Alberta.

After a restful week in Jasper on August 15th Elder Winston and Geri were heading back to Edmonton. Over the previous weeks, Winston had developed a dry cough that was more persistent than usual and he was tired, really tired.

Elder Winston went to the ER in St. Albert, AB and was diagnosed with congested heart failure and he had a heart attack. That started the roller coaster ride of the highs, the lows, the good, along with the not-so-good!

Elder Winston has had a very risky operation to install 5 stents and will continue with another operation to install a pacemaker at the U of A Mazankowski Heart Institute. The road to recovery will be long but we are certainly grateful for the love and care he has received already.

Being away in another province increases the already high expenses of gas, food, and other expenses of running a home as well as living out of the province.

Many people have asked how they can help Elder Winston and Geri. His family and friends have been helping maintain their yard and taking care of their beautiful cat - Ruffy. Due to the long road to recovery, we are now answering the question - how can we help? We have set up this fund with permission.

Please donate any amount of money you can so we can help with expenses while Elder Winston and Geri are away from home. They will also need help to cover expenses once they return as Elder Winston will need to take it easy. As you may know Elder Winston still maintains his own yard, shovels his own snow and much more. That will not be possible on his road to recovery.
