Elderberry Riddlington needs your help..

Hi, I am raising these funds on behalf of my husband and his beautiful girl Elderberry Riddlington. Elderberry needs emergency surgery to remove a kidney, the costs are more than we can manage and more than our insurance would cover.

Why help Elderberry? Who is she? This is what my husband says:

The day I first met Elderberry Riddlington was 16th August 2022, in Tesco car park. Elderberry, because I had been picking elderberries on the canal with the kids that day and Riddlington because she was “riddled” with fleas and worms.

She had been in Tesco car park for over two hours, whilst everyone ignored her. I whistled her and beckoned “come on then”, she banged her head round my legs, purring loudly and followed me home at my heal like a dog.

Once in the house it was clear that she was never going anywhere else! The next day I put posters up and walked the streets asking if anyone had lost a white cat? We took her to our vets and she was wormed flea treated and microchipped. All though we already had two rescue cats and really weren’t looking for another, particularly a white one, it was very quickly clear that as far as she was concerned she was now home!

For months she lived on a hanging bed on the radiator in the kitchen, safe and warm and refusing to move! Gradually she became more and more part of the family, and ventured into the rest of the house.

She came to us from a terrible start in life.

But, for the past 2 years she has enjoyed a comfy place to sleep and a full tummy every day.

This week that changed. We knew she was a little under the weather, but what we thought was a routine check has turned into a life threatening situation. A kidney infection has put her kidney under so much stress it needs to be removed before it bursts. If we don’t do the surgery, we either have her PTS or we don’t treat her and wait for it to burst and her to die horribly. We don’t want either.

Please help us save her. She was found when my husband was in a very bad mental health state, and helping her bought him back to me. She is literally his best mate. She deserves to stay sleeping on that sofa in comfort.
