Elderly lady and dog attacked in Luton

Donation protected
On Saturday 25th February at 1:40 in the afternoon an elderly local lady was walking her little rescue dog outside the shops in Lyneham Road when her dog was attacked by 3 large staffordshire bull terrier-type dogs. The lady was knocked to the ground and has suffered head & facial injuries and a broken wrist and is still in hospital.
The dog was rushed to the local emergency vets in Barton by staff at Prudens (the bakers) and Yellowstone (the computer shop). The dog's injuries were quite severe and we are not publishing pictures of the poor dog or CCTV footage of the incident as they are too gruesome to share with anyone.
Two of the attacking dogs were rounded up by the public and armed police swarmed the area eventually rounding up the third.
Sadly the poor little dog had to be helped over the rainbow bridge later that day as his injuries were too severe for him to have any chance of surviving them.
Many people asked if there was going to be a fundraiser for the vets bills, but initially it was thought the pet was insured. Sadly this turned out not to be the case and there is now a vets bill of £1058.72 (£882.26+VAT) (including the bill for putting the poor little mite to sleep, and getting him cremated). The lady concerned cannot afford to pay this bill, and she is also still in hospital and not able to deal with any of this.
We are therefore trying to fundraise to pay the bill for her.
