2 Updates: Elderly man loses foot to infection!

Hi my name is Jim and I am trying to raise funds for my elderly neighbor who just lost his right foot to a serious infection. Dwayne is 70 yr old Christian man who survives on a small social security check each month. He has various health problems including being diabetic. He somehow got an open wound on his right foot that he thought he could doctor it up himself and get it well. That was not the case. Infection set up in his foot and progressed rapidly. Within a few days his foot was swollen to the size of a cantalope and 2 of his toes had turned black. The opened wound on top that he had been treating himself was oozing out stuff that i can't even describe. 3 months before this happened his motor went out in his Suburu and he has had no transportation. He had been walking to the grocery stores and to go do laundry. I started taking him where he needed to go when I would go. I told him I would take him to the hospital but I think he was a little scared to go. He told me he had never been in the hospital before. He finely called an ambulance to take him. A couple of days later I found out which hospital and room number he was at. I went to see him on saturday and he didn't look so good. He said they took off some toes and decided they were not going to be able to save his foot. They were taking it off on the following Monday. He has a long recovery process to go. He will leave the hospital in about 2 weeks and go for a fairly long stay at a rehabilitation hospital.

The reason I am making this go fund me is because Dwayne is gonna need a lot of help. Right now he is living alone in an upstairs apartment. He is gonna need to get into a downstairs apartment as soon as one comes available. He will have to hire help to get him moved from upstairs to a downstairs apartment. He has no one to help him. I can only do so much as I take care of my disabled wife 24/7.

Dwayne would be very appreciative and surprised if we could get the funds to take care of his move as well as getting him a good used washer and dryer.
