Sweet Elderly Couple - Sewer Issue

Hi my name is Shane. My family and I live next to a really nice Senior couple. She is still going strong. Her husband on the other hand is not so much. He’s a veteran, has dementia and mobility issues. A caretaker is over daily to help out with his basic needs. So all of the day to day things fall on her.

Before Christmas they had standing water numerous times. They had their sewer main scoped, and found it is almost completely blocked. They were able to make a small hole, but the only thing that can go down is water. Nothing else, not even toilet paper, or it’ll back up again.

The recommendation is using a water jet to cut away the debris inside the line. The only other option is to dig everything up. Realistically they can’t afford either option, but the water jet is much much cheaper.

I’m hoping to raise $1,000 or more to help cover the cost of the ‘water jet’ in hopes that this will do the trick. If it does work, any donations that exceed the cost will go towards any medical bills that they have. If this does not work, the donations will go towards the cost of the full sewer line repair.

Update - The ‘water jet’ worked!!! Their sewer line is about 95% clear now. My neighbors are setup on a payment plan. But I’d still like to he able to help them as much as possible.
