We are raising much-needed money to benefit and help Hsin Lin, a nineteen-year-old young woman whose mother, My Lan Thai (57 years old), was killed at the scene riding her e-bike vs. vehicle collision in Westminster, CA, early Thursday evening, February 29, 2024. According to the Westminster Police Department, the fatal crash occurred at about 5:40 pm between Brookhurst Street and Bolsa Avenue.
This GoFundMe will be used directly for various costly funeral expenses, for her psychotherapy, and education.
The premier Vietnamese newspaper, Nguoi Viet, https://www.nguoi-viet.com, on March 4, 2024, wrote an excellent article regarding this horrific fatality and that Vice-Mayor of the City of Westminster, Dr. Kimberly Ho, donated US$3,000 (the most donation from one person thus far) of her own money to this GoFundMe and doing this as a concerned and caring citizen. Vice-Mayor Ho was one of the first donors to this wonderful fundraising effort. This fundraising effort is attracting many good donors in the local community and beyond.
Hsin has no immediate family living in the United States, and her father passed away a few years ago. She is now living temporarily with her cousins.
We have been receiving so many supporters and donations from our Vietnamese community and others. We are grateful to all. It warms our hearts to hear your calls and visits to our office expressing support. Please continue sharing this GoFundMe with your families, friends, and social network (Facebook, TikTok, etc) to get the word out.
This GoFundMe is created and managed by and under the auspices of the Asian-American National Committee (AANC). Your donation is 100% tax-deductible under the IRS and applicable state tax laws. Any amount of donation would help. Thank you.
