Medical Expenses for Grandmother Struck in Hit&Run

Hi everyone. My name is Genesis Barrios and I have started this fundraiser to help my grandmother, Edelmira Barrios, 77, who was severely injured after she was struck by a driver who took a stop sign and took off.

 

I'll start by saying that my grandmother is one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. She is always caring for someone or for her beloved pets. On Tuesday December 14, 2021 she was walking to Walgreens when she crossed the street right at the corner of her house, and a sedan took the stop sign and struck her. He was going about 15-20mph, drove around her and left. She has a hip fracture and is undergoing surgery today. She will need therapy and rehab for the next coming months. After just suffering the pain of losing her husband and son and now she has to go through the immense physical pain and intense recovery that comes with such a serious injury. Unfortunately, the driver is grossly irresponsible by deciding to leave the scene and we want to create this Go Fund me as a security for any costs that insurance does not cover.
