Elect Conor Reddy for Ballymun-Finglas 2024

Donation protected
In 2020 as a young activist and first time election candidate running on a shoestring budget, I humbled the political establishment by finishing 4th, just short of a Dáil seat and ahead of a sitting Fine Gael TD.

This June, I will run in my first local election, hoping to represent the Ballymun-Finglas ward on Dublin City Council.

Since the General Election I’ve been the most vocal anti-government activist in the Ballymun-Finglas area - fighting evictions, supporting renters, campaigning for better public services, democratic planning and in support of workers.

I am the only candidate in the race giving a cast iron guarantee that I will never prop up Fine Gael or Fianna Fáil on Dublin City Council or in Dáil Éireann. After 102 years, it’s time to break the Fine Gael/Fianna Fáil cycle.

If elected I will prioritise:

  • Oppose the sale of Public land to private developers – push government to establish a state construction company to build affordable homes for people of all incomes.
  • Support increased employment of Council maintenance and construction workers to speed up turn-over of vacant council homes, environmental retrofits and repairs for Council tenants.
  • Push Dublin City Council to take back control of bins and waste collection – reverse privatisation, improve recycling services, slash prices.
  • Sustainable Community Development in Ballymun-Finglas – schools, services, transport and infrastructure must be provided with new developments.
  • Increase Supports for Community and Clubs - Services and Supports should be supported by the Council, they should not depend on Charity of local people.

Unlike other candidates, I don't have the backing of a big political machine, or funding from wealthy donors. My campaign will be driven by grassroots activists and local people who believe in what I stand for. If we're going to be heard in this election, I'll need your support.

Every little helps. A €5 donation would pay for a social media ad to reach over 1000 people. A €10 donation would pay for a poster. A €20 donation can pay for 500 leaflets. With your help, we can build a strong left alternative in Ballymun Finglas!

Thanks,
Conor
