Elect Kate McDougall for Chehalis City Council

I am running for Chehalis City Council, Position #1 At Large.

My absolute passion is being a part of a community who builds each other up. Whichever avenue, street or anywhere in-between that we come from, we all belong. I am originally from Seattle and met my best friend/husband while working at Harborview Medical Center in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. We moved back to Chehalis, as his family has a certified organic beef farm here. I grew up with a family of scientists and Scottish heritage, so I live with constant laughter and interesting discussions. I have worked at Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. On our days off, you can find my husband and I constantly growing our garden, cooking and walking Winston (our 100 lb. German Shepherd/black lab) who we rescued and adore. Although new to Chehalis and have plenty to learn, I am excited to do so in contributing to our city.

Looking at my years working with individuals who are struggling with trauma and mental health complications I am constantly reminded of what I have been told.

"To whom much is given, much is required." (Luke 12:48)

I hope to make a small dent.
