While Adventures with Elephants (AWE) remains closed to the public, during the COVID-19 pandemic we remain committed to providing the highest standards of care and welfare for our elephants and our staff who care for them on site 24 hours a day.

 However, we are going to need your help to do this.

Entrance fees normally cover all the running costs associated with the upkeep of AWE. Without visitors we have lost our major source of income. For the first time in 10 years operating in Bela Bela, South Africa we’ve finally had to succumb to asking for donations to ensure our elephants are fed and looked after.

 We have a simple plan: to reach 2,000 people paying $10 per month.

We are fully aware that we are all in this together and that there is hardship around the world and everyone’s funds are tight, but we hope some of you can spare $10 a month. Reaching this goal will guarantee that our elephants get the best care possible - including winter feed - and ensure we can retain our staff on a reduced salary.

Our seven elephants are true heroes and ambassadors for the wildlife world. They have contributed to numerous research projects, expanding our knowledge and understanding of these phenomenal creatures but also discover new way to make a better world for elephants and humans alike.

Our elephants have met and educated thousands of people in a fun, unique and caring way. Many people have said that they left their hearts with the ellies after the experiences with them. They have also been aired around the world, becoming celebrities in their own little way, reaching out to everyone about the issues facing wildlife in a developing world right in your living rooms though various educational shows, movies, documentaries and even commercials.

 Please don’t let our elephants’ story and impact end here. Please help us keep going so we can continue to improve the lives of for elephants, the future for humans and the sustainability of African wildlife!
