Eli and Erin

Yesterday two of my good friends were given news that all parents fear. Their sweet baby boy Eli was brought into the doctor for a fever and some bruising that they noticed. He was sent straight to Children's where he was given the diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). ALL starts from white blood cells in the bone marrow, the soft inner part of bones and invades the blood and can spread throughout the body to other organs. It does not typically produce tumors, but without treatment can be fatal. Eli will have to undergo chemotherapy for 3 years, starting right away.
Allison and Cody's daughter, Erin who is almost 11 months old was born with a vascular ring. This means she has an abnormal formation of her aorta- the large artery that carries blood from your heart to the rest of your body. This is rare, and accounts for less than 1% of congenital heart problems. Erin needs to have heart surgery around the time she turns one. Meaning, very soon.
As you can imagine, medical bills will be piling up very soon and very fast. These two kids have AMAZING parents who would do anything for them, as well as great support from grandparents and other family and friends. However, right now, their babies need all of their attention with no added stress from finances.
The sooner and the more we can give them the better. Anything will help. There is a benefit in the works, hopefully some time in January. Anyone unable to donate right now please keep your eye out for the event to be created on facebook!
Lastly, please please please keep this beautiful family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you all for reading, and thank you again for any donations!
