Eli Joseph Dziak “EJ”

EJ was born 7/6/22 and diagnosed w/ Kabuki Syndrome. This disease caused him to have a number of problems like seizures, severe reflux and the worst being a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. HLHS means the bottom left side of his heart is underdeveloped and is not functional. That part of the heart pumps oxygenated blood to the body. He has had a series of open heart surgeries to “rewire” the pathways in the heart so that the right side of the heart is doing the work of both the right and left. He’s already had 5 surgeries in his first 5 months of living and is still in the hospital fighting to recover.
