ELIDA LADY DAWGS WRESTLING: THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
Donation protected
Girls Wrestling is the fastest growing sport in the country. Ohio finally sanctioned girls wrestling for the 2022-2023 season. Most, if not all, schools that start a girls wrestling program at their school must start out as a club for 2-3 years to prove that there is enough interest in the program in order to become an official school affiliated team. During these 2-3 years the girls wrestling clubs receive no funding from the school. All money must be received through donations, sponsorships, and fundraisers. I (Angela Woolbright) started an Elida Lady Dawgs Wrestling program at Elida this year. Through donations and sponsorships we have been able to purchase 14 singlets, 14 warm-ups, 7 headgear, 7 chinstraps, and a few more other items. We have also been able to pay for entry into our first all-girls wrestling tournament. But there are many more tournaments to pay for (approx. $175 - $300 per tournament) and more equipment/supplies to buy. If our program grows, as I hope it does, we will need to be transported to tournaments on a bus which will cost us $20.20 per hour. We need a certified weight scale to keep in the girls’ locker room for the girls to check their weight every day, and that is approximately $600. All stats and wrestling match information are now being tracked through an app called MatBoss that currently costs $259 per year. Our program needs at least 2 iPads to run MatBoss on. The cost of 2 iPads would be approximately $800-$1,000. Currently, the girls only have 1 singlet to wear. It would be nice to have 1 or 2 more singlets if wrestling at 2-day tournaments. The cost of our first set of singlets was $630. As you can see, starting a new wrestling program is not cheap. So, I am asking for your help! I totally understand that money is tight for everyone right now, but any amount that you can donate would be greatly appreciated. All money that is donated will more than likely be used this season. However, if we have money left at the end of the season, it will be kept in the club’s checking account for next season. The club’s EIN number is: 33-1496801. We should be 501(c)(3) affiliated very soon....currently waiting on the IRS to approve it. UPDATE: I got our letter of approval from the IRS yesterday 12/9/24 and we have been approved as a 501(c)(3) organization!!! So, all donations ARE tax deductible. I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your donations! Every dollar is greatly appreciated.
