Elijah Gill

Hello everyone. Our son Elijah was born on September 24th 2023 and was the perfect healthy little blessing. On October 3rd, he started not looking so good in the morning and Meschaun took his temperature, it was a little high but he was still eating so Meschaun and Justin were told to monitor. By 9pm, Elijah had a fever of 100.6 (newborns under 3 months need assistance above 100.4). Meschaun took him to the ER and he was tested for an abundance of things. We were then admitted and Justin met us there. Things got real scary when they mentioned the possibility of a UTI, blood infection and meningitis and starred giving IV fluids and antibiotics immediately. Elijah was a trooper and stayed so calm for all of this. It was discovered he has a UTI as suspected due to having hydronephrosis (dilated kidney) that was seen while snug in the womb. We stayed overnight and got multiple antibiotics on board and on October 4th, he took a turn backwards getting a secondary fever after the first one broke and we were being transported to Minneapolis Children's Hospital-NICU due to a confirmed blood infection. With this, mom and dad said their goodbyes to siblings Mia, Fabio and Zylah and let them know they would be back as soon as Elijah was healthy.

With this happening, Meschaun is on maternity leave and Justin is going to be missing a lot of work. Not only will there be medical bills, but the monthly life bills will still remain through all of this. Meschaun and Justin need to be able to focus on Elijah and getting him to a healthy state without the overwhelming amount of finances that are about to come.
