Elijah Washington's Short Film Update: Diminished

Hello Family & Friends,

As many of you know a year ago I began a GO FUND ME campaign for my Short Film entitled “Diminished”. Diminished is a story of a young, talented musician who must come to grips with loss and failure in order to find peace and create his magnum opus.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 there was an unexpected delay. Amidst this unprecedented year of 2020, I was reminded that Jeremiah 17:7 says, "But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." This scripture encouraged me and was a stark reminder that , despite the precarious situation I was in, the best thing I could do is to continue to trust God and keep my faith in him.

I am beyond grateful for the amazing amount of support that I received from so many of you! Because of the support from my family & friends we were able to raise over $10k! Due to the amazing out pour of love and the support of my amazing team, I was able to finish filming Diminished. We are now in the final phase of the project, known as post production and music production.

I am excited to announce that the project will consist of original music created by my brother R. Isaiah Washington and I, as well as some amazing featured artist. The cast consists of some incredibly accomplished actors, many of which are a part of some huge projects in Hollywood.

LET'S MEET THE CAST!!

Terayle Hill  is an accomplished actor who most recently has been cast on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, as a Recurring- Guest Star playing opposite of China Ahn McClain. Terayle has also been featured in several TV Shows and Movies,including Netflix’s Cobra Kai, Tyler Perry’s Acrimony, BET’s Being Mary Jane, The Quad, Lee Daniel’s Star, Superfly and Step Up: High Water to name a few.

Aaron Dominguez  is another accomplished actor who has rose to stardom, most recently booking a Series Regular role in Hulu Comedy Series Only Murders in the Building playing opposite of Steve Martin and Selena Gomez. Aaron has also been featured in Shaft, playing opposite of Samuel L. Jackson, as well as
NCIS: New Orleans and CBS’s Seal Team.


Brittney Level  is an amazing Atlanta based actress who has appeared on several TV shows including, BET’s The Bobby Brown Story, The Quad, American Soul, The Purge, and FOX's The Resident to name a few.


Vanoy Burnough is an accomplished actress known for her work on the stage. Vanoy began her career in the New York market; however, she has effortlessly crossed over into the world of tv & film and is now residing in Los Angeles.

Frederick Tabiyus Nah IV  is an award winning film director residing in Los Angeles, CA. Although he is a part of the cast, he is also the Director of Diminished as well as the executive producer for the project. Frederick is the CEO of Phoenix 4 Productions working with Celebrity Music Director Kimberly Burse (Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Ciara), Brian Littrell (Backstreet Boys), D.I.F.F.A. Aids Foundation, Netflix, and the Make A Wish Foundation among others. Frederick is also currently a part of Viola Davis and Julius Tennon's Producer Mentorship Program.


THE WASHINGTON'S
Elijah Washington serves as the visionary for this project and has brought on his siblings R. Isaiah Washington and Asiah Washington as co-writers for both the script and the music. Elijah plays the Lead in Diminished and will feature a variety of original music. Asiah Washington is featured in the project as well, and continues her studies in Los Angeles pursuing a BFA in Acting on Screen for TV & Film. R. Isaiah and Elijah continue collaborating on future projects.

I (Elijah Washington), am so grateful for the favor of God during my journey of living in Los Angeles, CA. As a result of prayer and activated faith which included having the opportunity:
-To be cast as Guest-Star Role in an Emmy Nominated Show
-To be mentored by 10x Grammy award winner Chaka Khan
-To write music for a BET Original Movie
-To work with Mr. Richard Lawson and his wife Mrs. Tina Knowles Lawson at the Wearable Art Gala, honoring Mr. Tyler Perry 
-To work as the Musical Director for the Arts & Learning Conservatory

 This is only the beginning and I know that through ownership and creation of art I can make a difference in this industry, which is why I have created a production company "Fire Rock Productions". Fire Rock Productions has partnered with Frederick's company Phoenix 4  Productions  in order to make this a ground breaking
project.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We are almost at our target goal in order to complete this project. We need to raise $10k and I believe nothing is too hard for God! Once again, I am so thankful to everyone who has contributed. If you have already given, I invite you to match your previous contribution. If you have not contributed towards this project, I invite you to donate with a contribution of $100 or more in order to make this goal attainable. However, I welcome all donations, no donation is too small.

*Everyone that contributes $100 or more will receive a special thank you in the
end credits of the short film. 

*Everyone that contributes between $300-$800 will receive an Assistant
Producer credit on the short film. 

*Everyone that contributes between $800-$1,500 will receive an Associate
Producer credit on the short film. 

*Everyone that contributes $1,500 or more will receive an Executive Producer
credit on the short film.
