Elijah's bar mitzvah gift and tzedakah project
Donation protected
We're so proud of how Elijah has been actively seeking out new skills and challenges. Last year, he threw himself into learning electronics to build a custom drone. This year, he's hard at work mastering Hebrew and preparing his d'var Torah (sermon). Even before he started this prep, he knew what he wanted to do next...
DESIGN AND ASSEMBLE A DESKTOP COMPUTER!
While Elijah has already started learning about the components he'll need to put this system together, he needs our help to purchase these parts.
Elijah also feels a desire to help out kids who don't have the kind of support that he has been offered to fall in love with computing. So he will be donating 10% of all of the funds raised to The Scratch Foundation. This nonprofit offers a free, friendly introduction to coding for students of all ages. "This is how I started coding," says Elijah. "And I want to give kids interested in coding the support they need to get started!"
Thank you for helping Elijah continue to grow and learn...while also helping him to remain aware of the need to care for people around us. We'll keep you in the loop with updates (and pictures of him working on his computer) through the months ahead!
With love and in blessing,
Josh and Stephanie
