ELIJAH J. WASHINGTON
Hello Family & Friends,
At the end of 2018, I graduated a semester early from Anderson University and received my Bachelor of Arts in Music Business with a cognate in Brand Management & Music Artistry. Since then, I have relocated to Los Angeles, CA from the Baltimore, MD area. I am quickly approaching my 7th month of being a Californian!
This move has been an amazing faith journey. I decided that in order to grow and operate at my full capacity I would have to step out on faith and completely trust God! It has not been easy by any means, however, I believe what God has for you it is for you. Ephesians 3:20 speaks of how God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ever ask or think.
Ever since I was a child, I often shared with my parents my desires of pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. They would encourage me to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteous in all things, to devote myself to prayer and commit my plans unto the Lord. They began to explain how there are people in the industry who do not share the same values as me, and the reason it’s important to stand firm in my faith, because a man that stands for nothing will fall for anything.
My desire has been to change the narrative of the "Black Man" in society and to change the social stereotypes, as well as inspire other Christians, whether they are in the industry or looking to pursue a career in this industry to not dim their light.
Within the past 7 months of living in Los Angeles, I have begun to see God open up some amazing doors in my life, as a result of prayer and activated faith which including having the opportunity:
-To network and work with Mr. Richard Lawson and his wife Mrs. Tina Knowles Lawson at the Wearable Art Gala, honoring Mr. Tyler Perry
-To take Acting Classes with Mr. Richard Lawson as well as Casting Director, Peter Wise
-To engage in communications with Executives from OWN Network about next steps of both my acting &
musical career
-To work as the Musical Director for the Arts & Learning Conservatory
-To attend and network at the Red Carpet Movie Premiere of Devon Franklin’s “Breakthrough”
-To Meet with various Entertainment & Talent Agents
-To be mentored by 10x Grammy Award Winner Chaka Khan
-To become SAG-AFTRA Eligible
-To most recently, have been selected to write music for BET’s Original Movie “Angrily Ever After”
WHATS NEXT??
-My next step is working on my FIRST Short Film. I have numerous people awaiting the completion of this project. After speaking with various TV Executives & Agents, the consensus is they want to see me create, develop and produce my own project. The benefit of doing this is to showcase my creative ability on camera for Casting Directors and Agents, while also submitting my completed projects to various short film festivals.
PROJECT SYNOPSIS:
-The Synopsis of the project is a classically trained pianist must figure out how to branch out as his own artist without his family name and prove that his eldest brother is not the only star of the family.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
I have journeyed to California to create & impact the world through music, film, & television, and bring awareness to the challenges people are facing throughout and across the globe. Today you have the opportunity to partner with me & be part of my narrative.
I am initiating a GO FUND ME CAMPAIGN for the purpose of reaching my goal to complete my project.
The GOAL: To raise $12,000.
I am asking for donations of no less than $100 in order to make this goal attainable. However, I welcome all donations, no donation is too small.
*Everyone that contributes $100 or more will receive a special thank you in the end credits of the short film.
*Everyone that contributes between $300-$800 will receive an Assistant Producer credit on the short film.
*Everyone that contributes between $800-$2,500 will receive an Associate Producer credit on the short film.
*Everyone that contributes $2,500 or more will receive an Executive Producer credit on the short film.
Will you help make this project a reality by making a donation today?
I believe with GOD All Things Are Possible!
