Dear Friends + Family,
Late last week as we were preparing for the wedding, Eli began showing signs of mild seizures from Temporal Lobe Epilepsy which over the course of Friday became more severe.
These episodes have happened three times over the course of the last 15 years and thankfully, Saturday, we were able to get her to the ER before they continued escalating. She has been in the ICU since Saturday afternoon, and currently is undergoing testing as they work to stabilize her and enable rest. Due to this medical emergency, Eli and Michelle's wedding had to be postponed this last weekend. This TLE episode was more severe than the previous ones she's walked through.
It has been an intense few days for her and Michelle - and she is currently still not out of the woods. Once she is able to return home, the road to full recovery will be significant: both in the needs of community support and financial realities with unexpected medical expenses, finances loss due to the postponement of the wedding and needing significant time home to heal. I wanted to invite those who love Eli + Michelle to join us in trying to rally around them to help alleviate these burdens. Your prayers for her full recovery are so appreciated and we'd be so thankful if you could consider giving to help support them.
Here is the overview of funds we're working to raise:
$4,000 - minimum deductible for their health insurance coverage
$5,000 - expenses unable to be recouped from postponing the wedding (event rentals, videographer, honeymoon, food items)
$18,000 (6 months of living expenses to enable Eli to stay home and fully heal)
