Elisa LaNier Family Support-Victim Senseless Act

Elisa LaNier is an amazingly positive thinking and hard-working young single mother of two who was shot more than ten times after a motor vehicle accident over the July 4th weekend. She had just joined the department of surgery at Loyola-Chicago in support of all our educational programs. Her impact and personality quickly resonate with all that she meets. This tragedy is compounded by the fact that the shooter left the scene and has not been apprehended, while Elisa has undergone three surgeries and continues to be at Christ Hospital under the care of the trauma surgeons there. Elisa is the sole support of her young children. This site is created to support her and her children while she undergoes her long recuperation without any income. Those who know her and those who will, please join us in praying for her and her family for a recovery physically and emotionally from this senseless act of violence. Acts like these are unfortunately commonplace but rarely recognized as ubiquitous. They affect real people. Selfless people like Elsa suffer. Elisa is a beautiful human being, and anything we can do to help her and her children offset her financial burden from this incident would be welcome. Her co-workers created this campaign to raise enough for 3-4 months of what would typically be her salary to feed and support her children while Elisa is in the hospital and rehabilitation. All the money raised will go directly to Elisa and her family for daily support, including meals, housing, and living expenses.
